US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s China visit aims to stabilise relations

The US Secretary of State has arrived in China on his second visit in less than a year as Beijing and Washington seek to stabilise relations.

Antony Blinken will begin his visit by holding discussions with business leaders in Shanghai.
He’ll head to Beijing on Friday for talks with Foreign Minister Wang Li.
Blinken is likely to meet President Xi Jinping during his three-day trip.

Beijing is also seeking to resolve several other issues with Washington.
Among them is the fentanyl opioid crisis in the United States.
US officials accuse China of fueling the problem.
