Students continue protest at Columbia University despite expulsion threats
At Columbia University in New York, students occupying Hamilton Hall have barricaded themselves inside the building after the university’s management began suspending students who refused to meet the deadline to abandon their encampment. Reporting live from outside Columbia University in New York is Al Jazeera’s Teresa Bo.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera’s Heidi Zhou-Castro is reporting from the Travis County Jail, where 79 protesters were taken after police broke up an encampment at the University of Texas in Austin. She also notes that students and faculty are holding a vigil at the Austin jail for the detained University of Texas protesters.
