Badlapur School Case LIVE: Badlapur into mayhem as protest turns violent, train services disrupted
Following reports of sexual assault involving two girls at a nearby school in the Thane district, a demonstration in Badlapur, Maharashtra, swiftly descended into violence. Last Monday, the accused—a male kindergarten attendant—was taken into custody. Parents who were incensed by the occurrence, together with members of the school community and locals, many of whom were women, gathered outside the school early in the morning. At approximately 8:30 AM, they blocked suburban train services at the Badlapur railway station in a "rail roko" protest, calling for immediate action against the guilty as well as the institution.
