US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar criticised the Biden administration for not addressing the deaths of over 170 journalists in Gaza. Speaking to Al Jazeera’s Gabriel Elizondo at the Democratic National Convention, she accused the administration of hypocrisy for highlighting the protection of journalists while ignoring those killed in Gaza. Omar emphasised the critical role of the press in documenting conflicts and urged a shift in US policy to better protect journalists in war zones.
