Northeast Nigeria’s floods displace thousands, disrupt food supply, and spur UN aid

Floods in northeastern Nigeria have uprooted hundreds of thousands of people from their homes.
The United Nations has approved 6 million dollars to help authorities address the humanitarian crisis in Maiduguri.
The government and aid agencies are trying to provide food for families – but are struggling to access the affected areas.
And a steep rise in food prices is making life more difficult for those who have no roof over their heads.

Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports from Maiduguri, in northeastern Nigeria.
