Calls for de-escalation amid Israel’s response to Iran missile attack, UNSC holds emergency meeting
Israel’s security cabinet has confirmed it will respond to Iran’s missile attack, heightening tensions in the region. International voices, including those from the UN, are urging rapid de-escalation to avoid further conflict. Meanwhile, the UN Security Council convened an emergency meeting in New York, on the same day Israel barred Secretary-General Antonio Guterres from entering the country.
