What are the prospects for peace in Sudan? | Inside Story

The people of Sudan have been through a lot.
More than a year of devastating conflict…the world’s biggest humanitarian crisis…disease outbreak…and displacement on a scale not seen anywhere else.
Yet, there is no end in sight to the conflict that has killed thousands of people.
The Sudanese army has now launched a major offensive to retake the capital Khartoum and surrounding areas from the Rapid Support Forces.
But will it defeat the paramilitary forces?
And what lies ahead for Sudan and its people?
