Omar Abdullah, the vice president of the National Conference (NC), will be sworn in as the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir’s chief minister. He will serve as the first chief minister following the repeal of Article 370. "I only came as a grandson to lay flowers on my grandmother’s and grandfather’s graves. More significantly, though, I came to Dargah Sharif Hazratbal just to silently pray to Allah Ta’ala, asking Him to provide me the courage to meet people’s expectations. Jammu and Kashmir has experienced a period of great hardship. "Our challenge is to live up to the high expectations that people have," Omar stated.
