Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador: Mexican leader to leave office with record approval
Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador leaves the Mexican presidency this week
with the highest approval rating of any president in recent history.
His party, MORENA, essentially controls all branches of government and his hand-picked successor, Claudia Sheinbaum will take office after a landslide victory in June’s elections.
While millions adore him, many in Mexico are concerned his years in power have weakened the country’s new and fragile democracy.
