Boeing to plead guilty to fraud: Charge linked to two fatal 737 Max crashes
Boeing has accepted a plea deal on a criminal fraud charge related to two fatal crashes of its 737 Max jets.
The terms include a fine of more than 243-million dollars.
At least 346 people were killed in crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia between 2018 and 2019.
The justice department found Boeing guilty of violating a settlement, in which the company avoided criminal charges.
The company was accused of repeated safety failures.
Relatives of the victims have criticised the deal saying, it means Boeing avoids criminal charges in court – and billions in compensation.
