Celebrities Who Are Unusually Short In Real Life
In our masculine-ridden society, we typically look up to those in high places… but sometimes the smaller guys are just simply… the best! In Hollywood, and the entertainment industry as a whole, the short celebrities seem to often be the most fascinating and provoking.
They may physically appear a bit shorter than the competition, but these short celebrities have the looks, the brains, the talents, and the abilities to make them stand just as tall as the rest of them. Plus, and don’t quote us on this one, these celebrities always have a handful of tall friends and partners. So, in that regard, the height issue is never really a problem. Still, these short celebrities stand above the rest, even if they’re the same size, for who they are as people. Surely you know that those you love stand above all others?
Emilia Clarke – 5’2″
Leave it to Jason Momoa’s real wife, Lisa Bonet, to break up a cute photo of on-screen couple, Kahl Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen. Played by Momoa and Emilia Clarke, respectively, Momoa stands over a foot taller than both his wife and co-star, who are both a tiny 5’2”.
Maisie Willians – 5’1″
Continuing on with the Game of Throne’s theme, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams played sisters Sansa and Arya Stark on the HBO hit. However, there’s a “stark” difference between their heights, in reality. Turner is a tall beauty at 5’9” while the petite Williams stands at a mere 5’1”.
Kit Harrington – 5’7″
Just like their characters on GOT, Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie actually became strong lovers themselves outside of filming George R.R. Martin’s epic. Harrington, standing at 5’7”, began dating Leslie in 2011 when the show first began filming, culminating to a 2018 marriage ceremony.
Josh Hutcherson – 5’7″
Unless you had read the book prior, we all believed that the 6’3” tall, dark, and handsome, Liam Hemsworth, would have ended up with the 5’9” Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games trilogy. However, it would be the 5’7” Josh Hutcherson that would end up winning Katniss Everdeen’s heart at the end of the story.
Tom Cruise – 5’7″
Believe it or not, 5’7” Tom Cruise and 5’11” Nicole Kidman were once a married couple throughout the 90s, ending in 2001. Both seem to be thriving as Cruise continues working as an action star and Kidman living the life with husband Keith Urban, since 2006.
Anna Kendrick – 5’2″
Pitch Perfect headliner, Anna Kendrick stands beside her 2016 Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates co-star, Zac Efron. She appears to make Efron look a fair bit taller but it may be a shock when we tell you she only stands 5’2”.
Zac Efron – 5’8″
Even when standing next to his former on-screen High School Musical co-star, Vanessa Hudgens, Efron doesn’t look that much taller. Even though this is an old picture, Zac Efron still only stands 5’8”. Hudgens, standing at an even smaller 5’1”, helps create some height context between the real-life former couple.
Scarlett Johansson – 5’3″
Seen here, the beautiful Scarlett Johansson stands a cute 5’3” next to her Avengers co-star, Captain America – Chris Evans. Evans himself stands at 6’ even while Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost, doesn’t even top 5’11”.
Mila Kunis – 5’4″
That 70’s Show debuted its first episode in 1998. Through eight seasons and 200+ episodes, we laughed and laughed at the troublesome relationship between Michael Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis). With all their on-screen bickering, it’s crazy to believe that 5’4” Kunis married tall-man Kutcher in a 2015 ceremony.
Nicki Minaj – 5’2″
Since 2004, Onika Tanya Miraj – better known as Nicki Minaj, has been lighting up our airwaves. Her hits “Super Bass” and “Starships” still manage to catch our attention. Standing next to her 2019 husband, Kenneth Petty, makes the 5’2” singer/rapper look especially small.
Jon Stewart – 5’7″
With such a strong personality and sturdy build, you might be surprised to find out that Jon Stewart is only 5’7”. Here he is accepting the Emmy for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series alongside friends, and fellow humorists, Steven Colbert, and Steve Carell, in 2007.
Lady Gaga – 5’1″
The multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer, and actress, Lady Gaga can be seen here being helped out of her limo by the adorable Bradley Cooper, her co-star in A Star is Born. Cooper may stand 6’1” but Gaga stands a whole foot shorter than her short-term partner.
Reese Witherspoon – 5’1″
Nearing 20 years ago, Reese Witherspoon starred in her breakout film, Legally Blonde. Witherspoon has furthered her success in the industry and as a parent, as well. Here she stands 5’1” with her near-identical daughter, Ava Phillippe.
Amy Poehler – 5’2″
What we wouldn’t do for a reboot of Parks and Rec… Here we see spunky councilwoman, Leslie Knope – played perfectly by Amy Poehler, and her libertarian friend, mentor, and boss, Ron Swanson, played by the hilarious Nick Offerman. Offerman may be an extra nine inches taller, but the 5’2” Poehler makes up for her size in energy.
Dave Franco – 5’7″
Dave Franco is clearly the younger brother of the famed Spider-Man actor, James Franco. When compared to the older, lesser-known Franco, Tom, who stands 6’1”, and James, who stands 5’11”, it’s a bit odd to see Dave stand at a much shorter 5’7”.

As a newer shock in the dating community, 5’4” actress Megan Fox has recently been seeing rapper, Machine Gun Kelly, since June 2020. The timing is especially interesting as Fox and her husband, Brian Austin Green, separated September 2020.

Adorable actress, Kristen Anne Bell, has been in the entertainment industry since 1992, gaining recognition for her character in Veronica Mars. The 5’1” cuties married 6’2” husband, Dax Shepherd, in 2013.
Ariana Grande – 5′
Four-octave vocal range singer, Ariana Grande, is one of the shortest celebrities on this list. Standing at a clean 5 foot, Grande can be seen here with former boyfriend, Big Sean, with whom she dated for eight months in 2014. Her heels must be working because Sean is 5’8”.
Lena Dunham – 5’3″
Actor, director, writer, Lena Dunham, has become the first women to win the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Direction – Comedy Series, for her work on her own show, Girls. Dunham stands a mere 5’3” when seen next to her friend, 5’10” Taylor Swift.

Bruno Mars may only stand 5’5”, a bit comical when standing next to Taylor Swift, but Mars is a big man on stage. His beats, lyrics, energy, and presence make him larger than life during his stage performances.
