Warning: Some viewers may find the images in this report disturbing.

In Southern Lebanon, children are bearing the devastating impact of intensified hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. Numerous children, like two-year-old Ivana, have suffered severe injuries from airstrikes, leaving physical and emotional scars. Lebanese health officials report that since the escalation began in late September, nearly 200 children have died and over 1,200 have been injured. The humanitarian crisis has forced over 400,000 children and their families to flee their homes.
But since the start of the escalation at the end of September the number of child casualties has increased at a shocking rate.
UNICEF highlights the mounting psychological toll on Lebanon’s young, who endure constant fear and trauma amid the relentless conflict.

Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford reports from Beirut.
