A local militia helping Nigerian security forces fight the armed group Boko Haram, is expanding its influence and operations.
The Civilian Joint Task Force has, for more than a decade, supported the military with intelligence gathering and combat operations.
The efforts led to the recovery of most of the areas held by Boko Haram in Nigeria’s northeast.
