‘Escalation and containment’ in Israel-Lebanon border fighting

An air strike occurred at Kafr Kila, situated in the eastern part of southern Lebanon. In the disputed Ayta al-Shab area, members of the Israeli special forces from the Maglan reconnaissance unit departed their base to undertake a clearing operation near, but not across the border. According to Israeli Army Radio, the operation was purportedly aimed at addressing land mines, although Lebanese media outlet Al Mayadeen reported that the unit was observed by what they referred to as "resistance forces," prompting their retreat.
The most significant incident involved 10 Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for launching a missile into Metula within the disputed Israeli area and three missiles toward a military position in Galilee.
The focal point of the situation revolves around the concepts of "escalation and containment." Thus far, all activities have been confined to the disputed border spanning 120km (75 miles). However, there have been strikes penetrating deeper into Lebanese territory, raising concerns.
