Former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond dies aged 69
Former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has died at the age of 69.
As a member of the Scottish National Party, Salmond was a key figure in Scotland’s independence movement.
He served as First Minister from 2007 to 2014, stepping down after the failure of an independence referendum.
