‘Horrific’ scene as rescuers try to reach site of deadly Rafah attack: AJE correspondent
Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum joins live from Deir el-Balah, central Gaza. He reports on the devastating events in Rafah, where two residential homes were completely destroyed, leaving at least 13 people dead. Abu Azzoum explains that civil defense crews are urgently trying to reach the scene amidst ongoing fighting between Hamas and Israel, with people still trapped under the rubble. He adds that Israel has intensified its raids across the Gaza Strip, with a civilian vehicle targeted in the north, killing at least three Palestinians and wounding nine others. In the last 20 minutes, a house in the western side of Gaza City was also hit. Abu Azzoum highlights the growing despair among displaced people, whose hopes for an end to the fighting and a return to northern Gaza are rapidly fading.
