Houthis target Israeli forces with ‘hypersonic ballistic missile’; Netanyahu vows strong response
Israel has vowed that Yemen’s Houthi rebels with pay “a heavy price” after the armed group claimed that it fired a hypersonic ballistic missile into Israeli territory.
Nine people suffered minor injuries after debris fell in an open area.
The Houthis say that the hypersonic ballistic missile, painted with a Palestinian keffiyeh, travelled more than 2,000 kilometres in just 11 minutes and managed to evade Israel’s initial air defence system.
Al Jazeera’s Hamdah Salhut has the latest from the Jordanian capital Amman – because the Israeli government has banned Al Jazeera from reporting inside Israel.
