Hurricane Beryl expected to hit Jamaica as ‘dangerous’ category 4 storm
Hurricane Beryl struck Union Island at night, leaving nearly everyone homeless. The island, part of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, is devastated, with 90% of houses damaged or destroyed. Grenada also faces devastation, with power and communication systems down after Beryl made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane. Jamaica is preparing for Beryl’s approach, with residents urged to evacuate vulnerable areas. Meteorologists warn this season could be worse than usual due to global warming.
