Iran presidential candidates discuss economy in first of five televised debates
The first of Iran’s five presidential debates has taken place in Tehran.
The six candidates discussed economic policies in the televised session.
Elections are due to be held on June the 28th.
They were triggered by the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash last month.
The candidates discussed their proposals for Iran’s spiralling economy, which is struggling under US sanctions.
Al Jazeera’s Resul Serdar reports from Tehran, Iran.
