Israeli military says strike on Beirut targeted underground weapons storage site
Israeli air strikes have hit the Lebanese capital Beirut.
The strikes targeted Hezbollah’s stronghold of Dahiyeh, a southern suburb which is a densely populated area.
The Israeli army claims it hit an underground weapons depot.
Earlier, Israeli forces threatened the residents of one specific building in the area, telling them to leave their homes or face bombing.
The Lebanese Health Ministry reports at least 40 people have been killed in Israeli strikes across the country.
Al Jazeera’s Dorsa Jabbari is in the Lebanese capital Beirut and Imran Khan is in Hasbaiyya in southern Lebanon.
