New Caledonia unrest: French president to visit the territory

French President Emmanuel Macron is travelling to New Caledonia in the Pacific, after a week of unrest triggered by proposed changes to electoral laws. The French territory is under a state of emergency after violence broke out when pro-independence protesters took to the streets.
