New security legislation in Hong Kong: Life sentences for treason and sabotage
New national security legislation is coming into force in Hong Kong from Saturday. It includes life sentences for treason, sabotage, and for what’s described as ‘colluding with foreign forces.’
That follows legislators unanimously approving new powers which they say are necessary for stability.
