Peak performance: Nepali teen targets mountaineering record
Nima Rinji Sherpa, 18, aims to become the youngest to climb all 14 mountains over 8,000 metres. His final challenge is Shishapangma in Tibet. Mountaineering, for Nima, is a sport and job rather than just a passion. With his father’s support, who runs a major expedition company, Nima is well-prepared physically and mentally. He hopes his achievements will inspire others and elevate mountaineering to a recognised professional sport.
