Russia and Ukraine exchange strikes: At least five killed in New Year’s Day attacks
Ukrainian rocket shelling in the Russian-held eastern city of Donetsk killed four people.
Russia says the attack was launched from several areas.
And Ukraine says Russian drones targeted a residential area in the Odesa region, killing one person.
Both sides have escalated assaults since Friday when Russia targeted major cities throughout Ukraine, killing 30 people.
