Scientists Suggest Ways to Reduce Anger | WION Podcast

A new study from Ohio State University challenges the popular belief that venting helps reduce anger. Researchers discovered that venting may actually increase anger, rather than help release it. The meta-analytic review, analyzing 154 studies on anger, revealed that calming activities like deep breathing, yoga, and progressive muscle relaxation are more effective in reducing anger than high-energy activities like running or boxing. According to the study, engaging in activities that lower arousal levels, instead of venting or intense exercise, can better manage anger.
