Senior Hamas official says fighters waging ‘fierce battles’
Osama Hamdan says the group’s fighters have been waging “fierce battles” with Israeli forces in various areas in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to reporters in Beirut, the Hamas official said the “real number” of Israeli troops that have been killed and injured is “much higher” than the figures declared by Israel.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli army have failed to achieve any political or military goals, and they will “not ever achieve them”, Hamdan said.
Addressing the family members of Israeli captives in Gaza, Hamdan said: “Your military’s ongoing war campaign against our people will not return your children back to you.
“They will not return if the aggression doesn’t stop.”
