Taiwan-China tensions: Taipei looking to break with the past
China’s military has wrapped up two days of military drills around Taiwan.
The manoeuvres are meant to signal a warning to the island’s new government, not to pursue independence.
Beijing regards Taiwan as a renegade province, vowing to return it to its control one day, by force if necessary.
And this latest spat once again highlights of how many in Taiwan are moving away from the mainland.
