They call Benny Gantz ‘centrist’ but he’s no less warmonger than Netanyahu: Marwan Bishara
Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst Marwan Bishara, speaking from Paris, discussed Benny Gantz’s recent ultimatum and resignation. Gantz, whom Bishara described as a "warmonger," threatened to exit the war cabinet if no post-war plan for Gaza was established, highlighting the chaotic state of Israeli politics. Bishara described Israeli politics as a "political circus" and criticised Prime Minister Netanyahu, calling him a "serial liar" known for betraying allies.
Bishara noted that while Gantz might lead protests or that the Shas party could cause early elections by leaving the government, the future remains uncertain. Despite Netanyahu’s attempts to retain power, Gantz sees an opportunity amidst Israel’s challenges in Gaza and its international standing.
