Trump blames Biden and Harris ‘rhetoric’ for assassination bids
The man suspected of attempting to assassinate Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump on Sunday has been charged with federal gun crimes.
58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh has appeared in a Florida court.
He was arrested on a highway near Palm City, about 45 minutes’ drive from West Palm Beach where the incident took place.
Donald Trump has blamed his election rival Kamala Harris and US President Joe Biden for his second apparent assassination attempt, saying their “rhetoric” about him endangering democracy is to blame.
Al Jazeera’s Phil Lavelle is monitoring the developments in West Palm Beach, Florida and Kimberly Halkett is at the White House for more on Trump’s reaction.
