Tunisian president’s re-election bid: Most other candidates jailed or disqualified
Tunisians vote in a presidential election on Sunday, but with most candidates disqualified or jailed, the current president seems certain to win a second term.
Kais Saied came to office in 2019, promising to root out corruption, after growing frustration with the previous government.
But then he suspended parliament and gave himself sweeping powers.
Meanwhile, the country is facing a deepening economic crisis.
