Two explosions hit Iran: At least 103 killed near Soleimani grave
In Iran, President Ibrahim Raisi and supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have vowed a ‘harsh response’ after twin blasts killed at least 103 people in the south of the country. The explosions happened at a cemetery in the city of Kerman during a ceremony at the tomb of senior Iranian general Qassem Soleimani. More than 170 people have been injured. Wednesday marks four years since the senior general was killed in a US drone strike near the airport in Iraq’s capital, Baghdad. President Ibrahim Raisi has now cancelled a planned trip to Turkiye – and a day of mourning has been declared for Thursday.
