UK local elections: Voters in England & Wales to pick councillors
Local elections in England and Wales on Thursday could indicate how a general election – likely to be held by the end of this year – might play out.
Polls suggest the opposition Labour Party holds a dominant lead over the governing Conservatives.
But for many voters it’s less about national politics and more about a steady decline in services provided by the councils they’ll be voting for.
