UN chief calls for ceasefire in Sudan: Guterres say ‘time is of the essence’
The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is calling for a pause in fighting in Sudan during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The battle for control of the country since last April has killed at least 14 thou-sand people, forced millions from their homes and caused a food shortage crisis.
