Volkswagen shutting German plants: Car manufacturer axing tens of thousands of jobs
Europe’s largest car manufacturer, Volkswagen, is planning to shut at least three factories in Germany and lay-off tens of thousands of workers.
The German car maker has been facing pressure from weakening demand in Europe and intense competition in China, which has stepped up its vehicle production in recent years.
