War on education: Israel targets educational facilities across Palestinian territories
Human rights groups have described the near complete destruction of schools and universities in Gaza as the hallmark of a terrorist organization, not a democracy. Israel has also killed dozens of educators there.
In the West Bank, Israel has detained at least 135 students from Bir Zeit university in Ramallah for opposing the war.
Campus raids and intimidation of students are common.
Students, teachers and activists describe Israel’s ongoing attacks on education institutions as a forced brain drain of the Palestinian people.
