What happens to arrested Palestinian women?

After speaking to several women who had been arrested in Hebron, in the occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera’s Hoda Abdel-Hamid traced the phases of detention that female prisoners have to face:
They are first brought to Ofer prison
They are then taken to another location for interrogation for several days
After that, they are moved to Demon, a prison for female Palestinian detainees in Israel
“They say inside those jails they are entirely cut off from the world and conditions are very harsh because they say prison guards were taking revenge or their anger out on them for what happened on October 7,” Abdel-Hamid said, reporting from Hebron.
