WHO declares global public health emergency
The World Health Organization has declared a global health emergency over the mpox virus that’s spreading in Africa. This is the highest alert level the WHO can designate. The virus has spread from the Democratic Republic of Congo to neighbouring Kenya, Burundi, Uganda, and Rwanda.
